CANANDAIGUA – Finger Lakes has just two games remaining on its regular season schedule – one home and one away. The Lakers will play both of them this coming weekend. They will first travel to take on No. 2 Genesee CC on Saturday and will return home on Sunday to host No. 5 SUNY Delhi.
The Lakers come into action on Saturday 9-1 in their last ten games. Coming off of a thrilling contest against Monroe CC on the road on Thursday, a game that resulted in a 13-11 loss for the Lakers, Finger Lakes, currently 11-7, will look to finish the regular season on a high note. It will be facing off against two top tiered teams in the nation.
The Lakers meeting with Genesee on Saturday will be played under the lights on the Cougars field beginning at 7 pm. They will then turn around and play a 1 pm afternoon game on Sunday against Delhi on their own grass to conclude regular season play.
Genesee will enter Saturday with a 12-1 record. Its lone loss this season came to No. 1 Onondaga CC on Mar. 30. In that contest, the Cougars fell at home 23-9.
Delhi will come into Lakers territory supporting a 10-2 record. The Broncos two losses came on the heels of Onondaga and Genesee.
Last season, the Lakers met the Broncos and Cougars each one time. Unfortunately, they fell to the both of them on the road. Finger Lakes, carrying a strong roster all season long, will look to force a pair of upsets in its weekend contests.
