Five Lakers to Participate in Region III All-Star Game
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – Five Finger Lakes Community College men's lacrosse sophomores will participate in the Region III Sophomore All-Star Game on Saturday, April 27. John Perrucci, Jack Timerson, Thomas Loudon, Robert Pelkey, and Albert Thompson will participate in the annual game held at Herkimer County Community College in Herkimer, N.Y at 10:30a.m.
Perrucci, the nation's leader in saves with 304, will serve as one of the goalies. The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native holds the record for both individual saves in a regular season (339) and saves in a career (626).
Timerson, the nation's regular-season leader in goals (79) and points (120), will participate as an attackman. The Newark, N.Y. native holds the career record for both goals (110) and points (180).
Robert Pelkey finished his career at Finger Lakes Community College with a strong sophomore year. The Fairport, N.Y. native recorded 91 points on 66 goals and 25 assists.
Loudon recorded 18 goals and two assists on the season. The Kansas City, Kan. native also recorded 33 ground balls. Loudon will attend Tusculum College (Tenn.) in the fall.
In his sophomore campaign, Thompson recorded career-highs in goals, assists, and points. The Medina, N.Y. native tallied 48 points on 23 goals and 25 assists. Thompson plans to enlist in the Navy next fall.
Sophomores Parker Weeks and Alex Thoms were nominated for the game, but will be unable to participate due to prior commitments.
The Region III Sophomore Men's Lacrosse All-Star Game was established by Finger Lakes Community College head coach Dave Stein in 2009. Since the inception, several athletes from the contest have gone onto Division I and II institutions.
