Men’s Soccer Season in Review
The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team executed a tremendous work ethic through displaying dedication and determination in each game to play to their strengths throughout the 2011 season. The Lakers played against some of the toughest opponents in the Nation. On 10/2, FLCC fought to a 1-1 draw against the then 5th ranked team in the nation, North Country Community College. The Lakers exhibited a gritty and tough defense in 2011, making for them to be a consistently challenging opponent for opposing teams. On an individual note, sophomore defender Parker Weeks and freshman midfielder Mike Bernard were both named 1st Team All-Conference for the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
FLCC is looking to build upon the tradition of the now 30 year old program at the college by adding legendary coach Brent Conley as its next head coach, effective in 2012. Conley brings 35 years of coaching experience to the table, having spent the previous 30 in the Rochester District League as an ambassador of the sport at several different levels. Coming from a strong background of soccer knowledge, Conley is delighted to accept the opportunity of continuing a successful men's program at FLCC both on and off of the field.
