Softball Spilts On Spring Break

Softball Highlights - March 17, 2011

FLCC women's softball split a pair of games on Thursday in Cocoa Beach, FL. The Lakers (2-6) lost game 1 to Chesapeake CC, MD: 1-0. The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the 7th inning on an unearned run. Shelby Marra (Spencerport) pitched a complete game allowing 5 hits. Sara List (DeSales) led the offense with 3 hits. Brandy Earl (Oswego) and Sarah Roza (Greece Arcadia) both added 2 hits apiece. The Lakers defeated Lackawanna CC, PA in game 2 by scoring 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning: 5-4. Kayla Kine (Mynderse) earned her first college win by pitching a complete game, allowing just 2 earned runs. List had 2 hits, including an RBI double and Stephanie Rodriguez (Manhattan) also contributed to the offense with a pair of hits. FLCC will complete its Florida swing on Friday by playing games against College of DuPage, IL and County College of Morris, NJ.
