Softball – Smyers Named To MSAC All-Conference Team

CANANDAIGUA, NY. -- Finger Lakes Community College right fielder Cassidy Smyers (Wellsville, NY) has been named to the (NJCAA Region III Division III) Mid-State Athletic Conference All-Conference team. The freshman excelled in her first season at the plate for the Lady Lakers. She was among the team leaders in hitting. She finished her first year in a Finger Lakes uniform with a batting average of .397 (25 for 63).

Smyers was the team leader in on-base percentage. She got on base over fifty percent of the time at the plate this season. Smyers finished 2012 with an on-base percentage of .524, which was good for 39th in the nation.   

Along with her presence at the dish, she brought with her to the outfield a solid glove. Smyers committed just four errors all season long. She finished 2012 with a fielding percentage of .862.

All of her numbers came in a total of 33 games.
