Region III Championships at SUNY Delhi
FLCC men's and women's track and field traveled to SUNY Delhi over the weekend (on Friday 4/29 and Saturday 4/30) to participate in the NJCAA Region III Championships. David Moore and Tryphena Hamilton both highlighted the weekend for the Lakers with a pair of 1st place finishes in the men's long jump and women's discus throw. Moore's distance for the long jump was recorded at 6.52 meters while Hamilton's was tallied at 32.30 meters for the discus throw (school record).
Moore and Hamilton continued their successful weekend with top 5 finishes in the men's high and triple jumps and in the women's shot put. Moore placed 3rd in the high jump (1.78 meters) and 4th in the triple jump (12.56 meters). Hamilton tacked on a 2nd place finish in the women's shot put (9.50 meters).
The men and women also received a pair of 2nd place finishes by Joseph Christian in the men's shot put (13.23 meters) and Sarah Murphy in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 103.65. Murphy also added a 6th place showing in the 200 meter dash (with a time of 28.32).
FLCC will travel to Alfred State College this week (Thursday 5/5 – Saturday 5/7) to compete in the NJCAA National Championships.
