FLCC Performs in Season Opening Race at University of Rochester
ROCHESTER, NY. – The Finger Lakes CC men and women made their season debut at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational on Mar. 30. There were a number of excellent performances that highlighted the day. Anthony Shuler qualified for the NJCAA National Championships on the afternoon by placing second in the men's triple jump. His runner-up finish consisted of him leaping to a distance of 13 meters.
On the women's side, Julie Brooks and Leigha Tilton qualified for the NJCAA National Championships in the high jump category by landing jumps of 1.49 and 1.44 meters, respectively. In addition, Tilton also qualified for nationals in the 100 meter hurdles. In that event, the sophomore placed eighth as she raced to a time of 17.99 seconds.
