Volleyball – Jordan Smith Named MSAC Player of the Year

CANANDAIGUA – FLCC standout Jordan Smith (outside hitter) has rightfully earned Player of the Year honors for the Mid-State Athletic Conference. The sophomore helped lead the Lady Lakers to a 5-1 conference record in 2012. She was a consistent force on the hardwood throughout the season and was among the conference leaders in kills per set. Prior to the Lady Lakers MSAC Tournament matches this past weekend, Smith helped carry the Lady Lakers to conference wins over Tompkins Cortland CC, Onondaga CC, Cayuga CC, Corning CC, and Broome CC.

In addition to her POTY award, she is joined by teammates Conley Gayton (setter) and Brittany Havens (middle hitter) on the 2012 All-MSAC Tournament team. Gayton, a freshman, was one of the elite distributors of the ball in the conference as she consistently posted double digits in assists throughout the season. Havens, a sophomore, was a quality catalyst for FLCC as she delivered solid efforts from the middle hitter position throughout the 2012 MSAC schedule.
