FLCC To Host 2012 Winter Baseball Clinic

CANANDAIGUA, NY. – Finger Lakes Community College (main campus) will be the host site of a winter baseball clinic intended to target interested individuals who are seeking to improve their offensive and defensive skills. The clinic will take place on a pair of different dates in the FLCC gymnasium, Sunday, January 29th (offensive) and on Sunday, February 5th (defensive). Staff members that will be working both of these clinics include; head FLCC baseball coach Sean Marren, assistant FLCC baseball coaches Nick Amatulli (bench coach), Mike Zollweg (pitching coach), and  Jimmy Habecker (catching coach), and former FLCC outfielder Travis Lisena (outfield coach).

The offensive skills clinic will consist of staff demonstrating step by step hitting instructions by covering all aspects of the swing. Comprehensive drills ranging from dry swings, to tee work, to live batting practice will also be covered in this clinic.

The defensive skills clinic will consist of staff teaching the fundamentals necessary for fielding, throwing, and catching. Individual and group drills as well as camp competitions will also be included in this clinic.  

There are two different age brackets for these clinics. For both clinics, participants ages 8-12 will begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 12:00 p.m. For both clinics, participants ages 13-18 will begin at 1:00 p.m. and finish at 4:00 p.m. The cost of each clinic is 40$ per participant. If a participant of one clinic decides to sign up for the other, they will receive a deal of $60 for both clinics. Please click here for registration forms: 2012 Winter Clinic. Registration forms are due by January 27th. However, walk-in registrations are accepted. The items that are recommended for each participant to bring to each clinic include; baseball pants or sweatpants, indoor sneakers, as well as a bat and glove.
