Baseball Prospect Camp to be held at FLCC come January 6th, 2013

CANANDAIGUA – Attention all high school students currently playing the sport of baseball. If you are looking to play this wonderful game at the collegiate level, you may want to consider joining an elite staff of coaches and instructors come Sunday, January 6, 2013 (in the gymnasium at FLCC's main campus in Canandaigua) for a unique camp designed for working with potential future FLCC prospects. The camp – known as the Baseball Prospect Camp, is intended for individuals who fit the following mold.

You must be a current high school student who intends on graduating in either 2013 or 2014. Showcasing your complete energy, attention, and efforts toward each drill will allow the staff instructors on hand to gage and grade your strengths and weaknesses.

Feedback and advice will be administered to each attendee on where their game stands. Instructions and tips on what one needs to do to be an effective player in the college ranks will be dealt in full detail to each participant – stemming from how to become a viable pitcher to a better hitter to a more effective fielder. The individuals who will carry out these offerings includes head FLCC baseball coach Sean Marren along with his entire coaching staff, which includes Laker assistant's Nick Amatulli (bench coach), Mike Zollweg (pitching), Jimmy Habecker (catching), and Travis Lisena (outfield).

Here is what can be expected when coming out to this camp on the first Sunday of 2013. On the offensive side of the diamond, the attendee will be granted with comprehensive drills ranging from dry swings to tee work to live batting practice. Following these drills, a brief video on swing analysis will be shown. A batting philosophy discussion will coincide with the video.

After participating in offensive drills, each individual competing in camp will partake in a defensive skills session. During this time, campers will be involved in individual and group drills and in conjunction with them, pitching and catching groups will be assembled. The individuals competing in these groups will be given strict attention towards the pitching and catching aspects of the sport.

Both the offensive and defensive skills portions of this six-hour camp will each run for precisely three hours. The cost to attend this camp will be $60.
