Lakers Will Travel on Tuesday to play at Jamestown CC

CANANDAIGUA -- Finger Lakes is set to play at Jamestown CC on Tuesday in an afternoon doubleheader. The Lakers, entering play with a record of 6-14, will take the field with JCC (5-12) beginning at 3 pm.

Both teams matched up four times in 2012. The end result in the four games played was a split. In a doubleheader on Apr. 3 on JCC's field, the Jayhawks won game one 10-2 before the Lakers took the nightcap in 11 innings by the score of 6-5. The two would then meet two days later on Apr. 5 on FLCC's diamond. This time it would be the Lakers taking the opener followed by JCC conquering game two. FLCC took game one 9-2 while the Jayhawks came out victorious in game two 8-1.

In the 6-5 contest, current Lakers pitcher Dakota Stackhouse led Finger Lakes to victory by pitching six scoreless innings of relief. Former Laker Corey Cowen produced the game-winning run.

In the 9-2 game, former Laker players Matt Tyma, Justin Stowell, and Anthony Gonzalez each produced two hits apiece. The winning pitcher for Finger Lakes went to Billy Kosachook, a previous member of the team.

The Lakers will enter play tomorrow two days after having their Sunday road doubleheader with No. 10 Niagara County CC be postponed due to high winds. Finger Lakes last played on Saturday, Apr. 6 at home against Niagara County. On that day, the Lakers dropped a pair of games to the Thunderwolves by the scores of 3-1 and 7-2.

JCC last played on Sunday at Onondaga CC. The Jayhawks were swept by OCC in a pair of games 8-5 and 7-0.
