Men’s Basketball Falls to #5 Nationally Ranked Herkimer

Herkimer, NY – The FLCC Lakers faced their toughest opponent thus far in the 2011-12 season on Tuesday (11/15) in # 5 nationally ranked Herkimer County Community College. The Lakers (2-3) fell short on the road to the Generals, 86-70. FLCC was paced by freshman standout Xavier Cunningham (Rochester) in a losing effort. Cunningham delivered his fifth consecutive double- double for the Lakers by scoring 24 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Freshman Nick Wicks (Webster) and sophomore Cody Sarkis (Greece) each scored in double figures for FLCC. Wicks scored 15 points while Sarkis added 11 of his own.

The Lakers will return home on Saturday (11/19) after a three-game road trip to host Columbia-Greene. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
