Canandaigua – The FLCC Lakers (3-5) played a competitive game on Wednesday night at home against a Division II opponent in Alfred State College. The Lakers fell short to the Pioneers in front of a decent crowd at Putt Moore Court, 62-54. FLCC was highlighted by a pair of New York City natives, freshman's Richard De La Cruz (Washington Heights) and Nic Cesar (Brooklyn). De La Cruz notched 3 three-point field goals on route to a 15-point performance. Cesar scored 13 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and tallied 5 steals on the night. Sean Carbonell (Irondequoit) rounded out the double-digit scoring column for the Lakers by adding 10 points.

FLCC will now hit the road for its next four games, starting with their first opponent tomorrow (12/2) at Jamestown Community College of Olean. The Friday night game is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
