Carbonell Leads Lakers to Victory over Division II Opponent

Olean, NY. – Freshman shooting guard Sean Carbonell (Irondequoit) led the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (4-5) to victory on Friday (12/2) by pouring in 24 points and registering 9 rebounds in a 78-61 victory over the Jamestown Community College (Cattaraugus Campus – Division II member) Jaguars (4-6).

FLCC saw four of its players reach double figures in scoring on Friday in the road win. Sophomore forward Cody Sarkis (Greece) finished the game with 16 points, displaying a hot shooting hand by draining 4 three-point field goals for the Lakers. On the evening, Sarkis shot 6 for 9 from the field and 4 for 6 from three-point land. Freshman shooting guard Richard De La Cruz (Washington Heights) found the double-digit scoring column for his second consecutive game by turning in a 14-point effort while pulling down 8 rebounds for FLCC. Sophomore Tyron Wilcox (Rochester) contributed to the Lakers offense by displaying a stellar game at the point guard position by adding 13 points and handing out 10 assists.

FLCC will take the court again tomorrow (12/6) for a road matchup against Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 8:00 p.m.
