Lakers Fall To Tompkins-Cortland In Thriller At Home
CANANDAIGUA, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (4-9) fell to Tompkins-Cortland Community College in a thriller on Tuesday night at home, 72-69.
Trailing 70-69 with less than a minute to play in the second half, the Lakers had an opportunity to take the lead, but came up short after a Tompkins-Cortland defender forced a steal and sealed the game with a lay-up.
Despite the loss, FLCC saw four of its players reach double figures in scoring led by sophomore point guard Tyron Wilcox (Rochester), who scored 19 points off 8-12 shooting from the field. Freshman shooting guard Sean Carbonell (Irondequoit) scored 16 points (off 6-10 shooting from the field). Sophomore forward Cody Sarkis (Greece) poured in 12 points and registered 9 rebounds while freshman shooting guard Nic Cesar (Brooklyn) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the win.
The Lakers will be back in action tomorrow (1/12) on the road at Broome Community College. Game time tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
