Lakers Winning Streak Reaches Four Games
Schenectady, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (10-14) extended their winning streak to four games today by downing Schenectady County Community College on the road, 64-59. Each of the Lakers last three wins has been decided by 5 points or less. Today's game was highlighted by 10 three-point field goals for FLCC. The Lakers finished the game by shooting 10-22 from beyond the arc.
Freshman guard Nic Cesar (Brooklyn, NY) continued to highlight the Lakers offense in today's win, finishing the game with 18 points. 12 of his 18 points came via the three-point field goal. Cesar has been shooting at a high percentage from beyond the arc over the past three games, going 14-20. He has averaged 21.3 points per game during this stretch.
A trio of freshman guards, Richard De La Cruz (Washington Heights, NY), Nick Wicks (Webster, NY), and Trevor Sanders (Shortsville, NY) each added a pair of three-point field goals for FLCC in the win. De La Cruz was the only other Laker to reach double figures in scoring, finishing the game with 10 points. Wicks (8 points) and Sanders (6 points) each followed De La Cruz in the scoring column.
FLCC has a league bye on Wednesday (2/8) and won't be in action again until Saturday (2/11) when they travel to Corning Community College in an attempt to extend their winning streak to 5 games. Saturday's game is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
