Lakers Win Home Season Finale over Onondaga

CANANDAIGUA, NY. -  The Finger Lakes Community College Lakers (11-16) turned in a solid offensive game today at home (their final 2011-12 regular season home game), taking down Onondaga Community College (Lazers), 96-76.

A total of five Lakers reached double figures in scoring this afternoon at Putt Moore Court, led by freshman forward Sean Carbonell (Irondequoit, NY). Carbonell turned in a 23-point, 9-rebound (both game-high's) effort in the win. He also shared game-high assist honors with fellow teammate (sophomore guard) Tyron Wilcox (Rochester, NY). Both Lakers players finished with 4 assists apiece.

Wilcox was the team's second leading scorer with 15 points. Lakers freshman guard Trevor Sanders (Shortsville, NY) turned in a 14-point afternoon, finishing the game 5-6 from the field and 3-4 from three-point land.

FLCC freshman guard Nic Cesar (Brooklyn, NY) and sophomore forward Cody Sarkis (Greece, NY) each contributed 10 points apiece, rounding out the double-digit scorers for the Lakers. Sarkis also pulled down 8 rebounds.

A pair of Lakers guards, freshman Nick Wicks (Webster, NY) and sophomore Gio DiDuro (Geneva, NY) each added 7 points apiece in the win.

Onondaga was led by Jordan Prior with 16 points. Jesse Gates added 14 points in the losing effort for the Lazers.

FLCC will conclude its regular season tomorrow on the road at Adirondack Community College. Game time tip-off is slated for 3:00 p.m.
