Strait and Women’s Hoops Head Coach Henry Announced as Award Winners
CANANDAIGUA – Casi Strait, a prolific scorer, and Bill Henry, an outstanding head coach, have been named Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Coach of the Year respectively.
Strait, a sound scorer all season long for the Lady Lakers, averaged a conference-best 21.3 points per game in 12 MSAC games this season. In addition to her scoring, she was eighth in assists (3.3 apg), third in three-point field goal percentage (38.6 percent), and was fourth in free throw percentage (86 percent). Her greatest offensive game in conference play in 2012-13, came on Feb. 13, when she registered a game-high 31 points on 13-21 shooting in a Lady Lakers 86-60 home win over Cayuga CC.
Henry, on the bench this year, coached Finger Lakes to a conference record of 10-2. Coaching in his third full season with the Lady Lakers, the talented coach has continued to grow the program since taking it over.
Both unquestionably great at their crafts, Strait and Henry have achieved winning success together as they have put forth the time and dedication into making the Lady Lakers program a sustainable, growing product.
