FLCC Soccer Signs Players for 2011 Season
FLCC women's soccer team recently signed two premier Rochester athletes to their 2011 roster. Cayli Carmona and Morgan J. Wehrle are both natives of Greece Olympia High School. They both have played extensive travel soccer and are looking forward to the challenge of playing at the collegiate level this coming fall.
Cayli Carmona is a dominant center midfielder who can also play at the forward position. She has received multiple awards for her talents on the soccer field including; being named to the All State Team, First Team All County, and Most Offensive Player of the Year in 2009. In 2010, she was ranked 5th in the state for Class A in total points with 23 points (8 goals and 7 assists). She was also named team captain for two consecutive seasons (2008-2009 and 2009-2010). Cayli has been a quality student, achieving High Honor Roll throughout her high school career (9th – 11th grades) and has been named a scholar athlete. Her college aspirations include; achieving both a bachelor's and master's degree in Special Education. Her career goal is to become a Special Education teacher.
Morgan J. Wehrle has been a fierce defender for 4 consecutive years at Greece Olympia High School. She has played travel soccer for 2 different teams, which included Greece Eclipse for 8 years and Spencerport Travel for 2 years. She was named 2010 Honorable Mention All County for Soccer. She plans to study Criminal Justice at FLCC and hopes to transfer to Brockport to attain a bachelor's degree. Her career goal is to become an Animal Police Officer.
