Women's Soccer All-Region Team Announced

Several key members of the #2 nationally ranked FLCC women's soccer team have been announced to the 2011 NJCAA Region III Division III All-Region team. Rounding out the 1st Team selectees for the Lady Lakers were forwards Colby Henderson (Canandaigua) and Cayli Carmona (Rochester), midfielder Rebecca Giacapuzzi (Merrimack, NH), and defender Hannah Dalle (Rochester). Midfielder Sarah Murphy (Webster) was selected 2nd team, capping off five Lady Lakers that were chosen for this year's cast of All-Region selectees. Henderson was voted Player of the Year for the Region. FLCC's head coach Brandy Cooper was announced as Coach of the Year for the Region. The Lady Lakers currently hold a record of 20-0-1. They recently captured the Region III Division III championship title on Saturday, 10/29 with a 1-0 victory over Mohawk Valley Community College. FLCC will now continue its goal of playing for the national title by taking on Monroe College in the first round of the NJCAA nationals this Thursday (game will take place at Tompkins Cortland Community College) at 1:30 p.m.
