Women’s Soccer Advances to Region III Division III Finals

Canandaigua – The #2 nationally ranked FLCC women's soccer team defeated Broome Community College on Tuesday at home in the Region III Division III Championship play semi-finals, 5-1. Sophomore forward Colby Henderson (Canandaigua) led the Lady Lakers (19-0-1) in the goals department with 2, both her 23rd and 24th on the season. Henderson also added an assist in the win. Freshman midfielder Cayli Carmona (Rochester) accumulated a game-high 5 points for FLCC by pouring in 1 goal and handing out 3 assists. With the 5-point performance, Carmona moves up to second in the nation in scoring with 66 points on the season (20 goals and 26 assists). The Lady Lakers also received 1 goal each from Rebecca Giacapuzzi (Merrimack, NH) and Jeri Baker (Harrisville).

With the win, FLCC advances to the Region III Division III Championship game on Saturday, October 29th, where they will take on Mohawk Valley Community College (at Herkimer Community College) at 11:00 a.m.
