Bio
In 2012, Eric Marsh concluded his 7th season as head coach of the Lady Lakers by guiding the team to a record of 18-2-1.
A year after serving as Finger Lakes associate head coach, Marsh reclaimed the position of head coach of the team in 2012. In addition to his seven-year stint with the Lady Lakers, he served as head coach of the men’s soccer team at Finger Lakes for the 2011 season.
Since the 2007 season, Marsh has compiled a record of 102-16-7 while being at the helm of the women’s soccer program. He transitioned into the program in 2006 – which was his first full season. Since then, Marsh has built a strong, nationally recognizable program. Aside from their outstanding 2012 season – the Lady Lakers – dating back to 2007 – have had seasons of 14-6-1 (’07), 19-0-2 (’08), 16-4-1 (’09), 14-3-1 (’10), and 21-1-1 (’11).
In his 7 years with the Lady Lakers, Marsh has guided the team to five consecutive region III division III championship game appearances (’08, ’09, ’10, ’11, and ’12). Throughout his five-year run to the region III championship game, Marsh has twice been named MSAC Coach of the Year in ’08 and ’10 as well as region III Coach of the Year in ’08. During his tenure, Marsh has coached 11 Athletic All-Americans, 12 Academic All-Americans, 5 Conference Players of the Year, and 3 Regional Players of the Year.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Marsh experienced great success as a soccer player himself. He was a member of the Finger Lakes CC men’s soccer team before transferring to Division I Canisius College where he competed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. After his college athletic career concluded, Marsh proceeded to continue playing the sport of soccer by becoming a member of the Vermont Voltage in the Premier Development League.
Marsh is recognized by the United States Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a nationally certified coach. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Canisius as well as a masters in health promotion from Mississippi State University. Marsh currently resides in Canandaigua, NY with his wife and their four children.
