Lady Lakers Sweep Weekend POD at Monroe Community College

Rochester, NY – The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team finished its regular season play on Saturday by recording three victories in a POD series held at Monroe Community College. In match one, the Lady Lakers (26-10) took down Tompkins Cortland Community College in three consecutive games, 25-16, 25-20, and 30-28. FLCC was highlighted by Jessica Granger's (Letchworth) team-high 27 assists. Katelyn White (Williamson) led the Lady Lakers in digs with 18. Taylor Ryan (Victor) provided FLCC with game-highs in both kills (11) and blocks (3). Alysha LaDuke (Livonia) added 11 digs and 4 aces (team-high) in the win for the Lady Lakers.

FLCC defeated Corning Community College in match two in four games, 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, and 25-21. Granger led the Lady Lakers in assists (31) and blocks (3) while LaDuke posted a team-high 13 digs. LaDuke was also the co-leader in kills (11), sharing the honor with Ryan. Ryan tacked on 4 aces (team-high) in the win for FLCC.

The Lady Lakers finished there Saturday sweep with a victory over Broome Community College in 5 games, 25-22, 18-25, 14-25, 25-18, and 15-6. Granger once again led FLCC in assists (28) while posting 14 digs and 2 blocks. The Lady Lakers received a staggering 16 digs from Ryan as well as 14 kills from Jordan Smith (Lyons). Ryan added 3 blocks for FLCC, sharing team-high honors with Meaghan McCarthy (Canandaigua). McCarthy tacked on 3 aces (team-high) in the five-game match, helping secure the victory for the Lady Lakers.
