Bio
As a guard with the Lakers in 2011-12: Sanders gave coach Jones and his teammates a great lift off of the bench. Seeing action in 27 games his freshman year, the now sophomore provided the Lakers with a reliable shooting option on the court. His length and shooting touch from the perimeter were undeniably considered superb. Sanders stood as a reliable three-point shooter in his first year with Finger Lakes. From three-point land, he shot 36% (37% from the field) on the season. Overall, he made good on 24 of his 67 shot attempts from the outer part of the arc. On the year, he averaged 3.6 points per game. In addition to his ability to shoot the ball at a solid clip, Sanders was a 77% free throw shooter for the team last season. In 2012-13, Jones plans to use Sanders athletic 6’2” frame at the forward position. He believes the sophomore has the tools and knowledge of the game to make the transition from guard to the post. With that aside, you can still expect to see Sanders delivering quality mid to long range shots this season. His poise and leadership along with his offense – can all expect to be elevated in year two.
