As a guard with much potential: Wilburn is a great prodigy, one that brings a solid blend of offense and defense with him to the heart of Lakers basketball. Originating from Rochester, NY, the sophomore gives Finger Lakes an added dimension from a scoring standpoint. He can shoot the rock at a high percentage thanks to his solid mechanics and is an excellent dribbler in and outside of traffic. Wilburn possesses a great understanding of the finer details of the game. He has a knack for getting to loose balls at a quick and consistent rate and can spread the court thanks to his elusiveness. His offense is balanced with a great defensive game as well. The guard is a top-notch defender of the ball and is quick in transition off of a steal, rebound, or blocked shot. The buzz doesn’t end with his offense and defense. Wilburn is also a stupendously hard worker off of the court. His game is a pure result of the dedication and time that he puts into it in the offseason as well as during the season. With his upside and talent level beaming high, only greatness stands on the horizon for Wilburn in 2012-13.
