Bio
High School: The freshman middy was a standout student-athlete throughout his 4-year career at Keshequa Central -- one who shined athletically as well as academically. Coates, a member of the men’s soccer, basketball, and track and field teams, excelled at each of these sports at a great capacity. His 6’4” frame was used to its advantage on the soccer pitch, basketball court, and track. For an athlete who is of great stature, the first-year Laker was known best for his speed at Keshequa -- especially on the track. His length gave him the ability to flourish at all of the aforementioned sports. On the soccer pitch, he was able to stretch the field at a quick rate in high school thanks in large part to his length. Athleticism aside, Coates was also an excellent performer in the classroom as well in high school -- where he was named 5th overall in his class. The combination of athleticism and intelligence gives this new comer a ton of hope heading into 2012. Coates is currently a natural resources conservation major.
