As a transfer from Monroe CC: The keeper red-shirted his freshman year with the Tribunes. The Penn Yan native gives the Lakers a valuable option in net in 2012. MacKerchar brings with him to the club a blend of leadership and athletic ability. With him having the ability to lead with his voice, the new addition gives the Lakers a stable beam to lean on this season. Combine this with his talent level – and you have a worthy candidate for being something special. Prior to MacKerchar’s arrival to MCC, he was a silky smooth tender in goal during his high school days on the men’s soccer team at Penn Yan Academy. At PYA, he was superior at scooping up shots on goal at a rapid pace and was great at clearing the ball out of his teams’ zone. With a little bit of time in the crease, this newcomer could develop into a reliable goalie. MacKerchar is currently majoring in liberal arts and sciences.
