ROCHESTER, NY -- The Finger Lakes Men's Soccer team ended their 2013 season on Tuesday with a 5-0 win over the JV Squad from Roberts Wesleyan College. The Lakers finished the year with a 5-10-3 record.
The Lakers used a solid team effort in the final match of the year with everyone seeing a lot of playing time. Corey Nash finished the game with a hat trick. This gave the freshman from Webster, NY the team lead for goals on the season with six. Finishing runner-up to him was James Ferro, who also notched a goal for the Lakers. The freshman defender finishes the 2013 season with five goals. AJ Carselli added three assists for Finger Lakes. It was the most assists by a Laker in a game in the past three seasons. Sean Anderson and Ben Price would also add an assist for Finger Lakes. Brian Arcara and Barizaa Worwor each made a pair of saves and combined for the shutout in net.
The win will conclude the 2013 campaign for the Lakers as they did not qualify for the Regional Tournament. Looking towards next year, Finger Lakes will look to grow from this season that saw typically eight or nine freshman in the starting eleven.
