Friday night the Lakers suffered their second loss on the season to conference opponent Onondaga Community College. The Lakers fell to 2-2 on the season after a tough bout against the Lazers.
The Lazers struck early in the match scoring in the fifth minute off the foot of Martin Silva from a feed by David Bosak. The Lazers offense chipped in a goal in the seventh minute off the foot of Joe Fordham to give the Lazers a 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. In the 34th minute the Lazers extended their lead to off from an unassisted goal by Martim Silva. The Lazers went into the break with a comfortable 3 - 0 lead over the Lakers.
The Lakers offense was determined and did not give up. In the 65th minute, Freshman Evan Stevely (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) broke the ice for the Lakers off the feed from Sophomore Carson DeVinney (Perry, N.Y./Perry) to shorten the Lazers lead. The Lazers struck back growing their lead to 4 - 1 in the 69th minute. The Lakers offense never gave up as Stevely chipped in his second goal of the game off from a pass by teammate Chuck Domm (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester). in goal, Mike Rasciatore (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester) added 9 saves for the Lakers on the night.
The Lakers look to get back on track when the squad is at home next Wednesday in a matchup against Jamestown Community College at 6:30 PM. The Lakers then go on the road to play Fredonia (JV) on Friday, September 17th.
