A featured incoming freshman – Briggs – penciled in as a catcher on the Lady Lakers roster, comes to Finger Lakes with great upside. In high school, the Afton Central graduate was a standout softball player for four seasons on the diamond. Rotating her time between catcher and outfield, the new Lady Laker was a multi-award winner in softball during her high school days. She was a first-team all-star all while earning first and second-team all-state honors. In addition to spending four years on the softball team at Afton, Briggs played field hockey (for 4 years) and basketball (for 3 years) all while participating on the indoor track team (for one year). The addition of the athletic signal caller provides Finger Lakes with a promising asset behind the plate.
