CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2024 season at home in a Region III contest against the visiting Monroe Community College Tribunes. The Tribunes, who have put together an impressive run in the latter half of their schedule, had just come off a close matchup with #1 Onondaga Community College. The Tribunes used their momentum to carry them to a 21-3 win in the final game of the season for the Lakers.
It was an impressive day for Lakers freshman Marissa Russell (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) who carried the Lakers offense with 3 unassisted goals, Russell would have 6 total shots on goal for the afternoon. In goal, Lakers sophomore Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) stood tall and made 12 saves in 60 minutes in goal.
Despite the finish, the Lakers will look to put together a strong recruiting class to pair with a core group of sophomores for the 2025 season as the team vies for a Region III postseason appearance.
