Cross Country – Finger Lakes Looks Strong at Hamilton College Invitational

CLINTON, NY. – The Finger Lakes CC cross country team - both the men and women, ran well at the Hamilton College Invitational over the weekend. Competing against a plethora of strong two-year and four-year institutions, FLCC was faced to run in not so great conditions on Saturday (10/6) - as the weather was cool and damp. Both the men and women had to trek around on what was a pair of muddy, rain-soaked courses - in the afternoon meet.

The Lakers, who jaunted around on an 8k course, were led by Joshua Corey's time of 31:12. The sophomore was followed by teammates Kevin Schoonmaker (31:29), Samuel Mozingo (31:45), Brandon Smith (32:14), and Jason Woodard (32:59). Nicholas Pruden and Jesse Martinez also added a pair of solid races in the away meet.

For the women, the Lady Lakers were paced by Caitlin Drennan and her 23:56 time. The freshman recorded the aforementioned time on what was a 5k path. Like the men, the women competing in Saturday's Invitational, stemmed from a quality cast of colleges and universities.

Finger Lakes will race again next on Saturday, Oct. 27 in the NJCAA Region III Championships – starting at 11:00 a.m.
