Finger Lakes Cross Country to Host Summer Training Clinic

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — High school athletes looking to take their training to the next level are invited to join the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers Cross Country program for a dynamic 5-day summer training clinic, hosted August 4th–8th from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM each day on the scenic FLCC Bruce Bridgeman Memorial Cross Country Course.

Led by Head Coach Jay Donahue, now entering his seventh season at the helm of FLCC Cross Country, this clinic is designed to give high school runners a competitive edge as they prepare for the Fall 2025 season. Whether you're logging summer miles on your own or hoping to sharpen your training with like-minded athletes, the Lakers Cross Country Clinic is the perfect way to elevate your performance!

In addition to daily running workouts, participants will take part in targeted sessions covering:

  • Strength training for distance runners

  • Nutrition strategies for endurance performance

  • Running form and mechanics

This clinic is open to all high school athletes currently participating in cross country or track and field. Sessions will take place rain or shine, so athletes should come dressed appropriately and equipped with running shoes and a water bottle.
