Lakers Split Season Series with Jamestown

Canandaigua, N.Y. - It was a weekend of highs and lows for the Lakers, as they split the season series with Jamestown Community College.

Saturday, March 21

The Lakers first hit the road to Jamestown, N.Y., where they battled through a pair of closely contested games against the Jayhawks, ultimately earning a split on the day.  Markus Brehm (Wayland, N.Y. / Wayland-Cohocton) stayed red-hot at the plate, collecting three hits on the day, including a two-run home run that proved to be the difference in the Lakers' Game Two victory. He also swiped three bases and drove in four runs in an impressive all-around performance.

Alex Green (Wellsville, N.Y. / Wellsville Secondary School) would enjoy a nice day collecting 3 hits in game one.  Sophomore Ethan Kuzma (Middleport, N.Y. / Royalton-Hartland) would pick up a pinch hit 2 RBI single in game one as well.

On the Mound, sophomore Nate Power (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) highlighted the day for the Lakers, tossing a complete-game victory. He allowed just five hits and two runs while striking out four in a dominant outing.

On the mound in Game 1, Freshman Alexander Rogers (Waterloo, N.Y. / Waterloo) turned in another strong performance, pitching four innings while allowing just three hits and one earned run. He has now put together back-to-back impressive outings and will look to carry that momentum forward.

The Lakers will now travel to Erie on Thursday, March 26, before returning home for a four-game homestand this weekend.
