Brehm Leads Talented Group of Award Winners for FLCC Baseball

Canandaigua, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team collected numerous accolades and postseason honors to cap off an outstanding 2026 campaign. After a strong season on the diamond, the Lakers were well represented across both the conference and regional awards, showcasing the talent and dedication throughout the roster. From major individual honors to All-Conference and All-Region selections, FLCC continued to establish itself as one of the top programs in the area.

They were led by Sophomore Markus Brehm (Wayland, N.Y. / Wayland-Cohocton), who put together one of the most dominant seasons in Finger Lakes Community College baseball history. In 2026, he earned MSAC Player of the Year honors and a selection to the All-Region First Team. Brehm finished the season hitting an incredible .480 while collecting 60 hits, 15 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, and 42 stolen bases across 42 games. He also scored 63 runs and drove in 30 while posting a remarkable .586 on-base percentage and .888 slugging percentage. His historic campaign rewrote the FLCC record books, as he set new single-season program records for batting average, stolen bases, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS. Brehm's combination of speed, power, and consistency at the plate helped lead the Lakers throughout the season and cemented his place as one of the top players in the region.

Sophomore pitcher Nate Power (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) was a key part of the Lakers pitching staff throughout the 2026 season, making 11 starts and logging 46.1 innings on the mound. Power finished the year with four wins while striking out 26 batters and showing toughness every time he took the ball for FLCC. He also recorded three complete games during the season, consistently giving the Lakers valuable innings in important matchups. For his strong season on the mound, Power earned All-Conference First Team honors. His leadership and reliability helped anchor the pitching rotation and played an important role in the team's successful season.

Freshman infielder Zach Huber (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) made an immediate impact for the Lakers during the 2026 season, appearing in 49 games and batting .367 at the plate. Huber totaled 51 hits, including nine doubles, one triple, and four home runs while driving in 29 runs and scoring 38 times. He also showcased great discipline at the plate with a .462 on-base percentage and added 12 stolen bases on the year. For his strong freshman campaign, Huber earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors, establishing himself as one of the Lakers' top young contributors and an important piece of the team's success throughout the season.

Freshman infielder Nick Prezioso (Pendleton, N.Y. / Starpoint) was another major contributor for the Lakers during the 2026 season, appearing in 50 games and finishing with a .351 batting average. Prezioso collected 53 hits on the year, including seven doubles and three triples, while driving in 28 runs and scoring 36 times. He also added 15 stolen bases and posted a strong .457 on-base percentage, consistently creating opportunities at the top of the lineup. For his outstanding freshman season, Prezioso earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and quickly established himself as an important part of the Lakers' future.

Sophomore first baseman Ty Joy (Warsaw, N.Y. / Warsaw) continued to be a consistent offensive presence for the Lakers during the 2026 season, appearing in 45 games and batting .356 at the plate. Joy totaled 48 hits, including 12 doubles, one triple, and four home runs while driving in a team-high 35 RBIs and scoring 37 runs. He also posted a strong .431 on-base percentage and .548 slugging percentage, providing power and production in the middle of the lineup throughout the season. For his efforts, Joy earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

From record-breaking performances to major postseason awards, FLCC Baseball showcased the talent, determination, and hard work that defined the program throughout the year. With a strong returning core and talented young players continuing to develop, the future remains bright for Lakers Baseball.
