Arberry and De La Cruz Have Been Named to the MSAC All-Conference Team
CANANDAIGUA – Will Arberry and Richard De La Cruz, a pair of solid standout players for the Lakers, have both been named to this year's Mid-State Athletic Conference All-Conference Team.
Arberry, a reliable post presence in the paint all season long – ranked ninth in rebounding in the MSAC with his 6.6 rebounds per game average. In addition to his rebounding, the 6-foot-3-inch freshman averaged 11.3 points per game in the Lakers 12 conference games in 2012-13.
Arberry showed great promise on the hardwood in his first year at the collegiate level. In his last 6 conference games, he averaged 14.6 points and 7 rebounds per game. His greatest offensive showing of the regular season came in a conference game on 2/16 at Onondaga CC. In that game, which resulted in an 81-78 Finger Lakes CC victory, Arberry, on 9-14 shooting, scored at the time, a career-high 20 points.
De La Cruz, a 6-foot-2-inch sophomore, in 12 conference games this season, was tied eighth in the MSAC with his 13 points per game scoring average. To go along with his scoring average on the offensive end of the court, the silky smooth shooter was third and eighth in free throw percentage and three-point field goal percentage respectively.
In Finger Lakes CC's 12 conference contests, De La Cruz shot 81 percent from the free throw line all while shooting 34 percent from three-point land. In addition to his offensive numbers, the Washington Heights, NY native's 1.6 steals per game average ranked fifth in the conference in its category.
