The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Lacrosse team defeated conference opponent, Tompkins Cortland Community College last night by a final score of 8-6. With the win, the Lakers are now 4-2 on the season and are still ranked 10th overall in the NJCAA.
It was a very close game for all 60 minutes of play. By halftime the Lakers were holding onto a 3-2 lead over the Panthers. Finger Lakes would go on to score 5 more goals in the final 2 quarters while holding the Panthers to 6 total goals on the night.
Zakk Mount, Justin Young and Matt Hall each ended the night with 2 goals a piece. Mount also had one assist in the game. Ethan Bakogiannis finished with 1 goal and 2 assists against the Panthers. Jessie Lewis scored one goal for the Lakers.
Goaltender Matt Spoor played all 60 minutes between the pipes for Finger Lakes. He recorded a season high of 20 saves.
The Lakers will play their home opener tonight at 4:00 pm. They will be hosting the Riverhawks from Anne Arundel Community College.
