The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer team defeated regional opponent, Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday, August 31 and claimed their first win of the 2016 season.
The Lakers got on the board early in the first half of play off a Will Skinner goal that was assisted by Aleric Stewart. Despite their continued press on the Vikings defense, the Lakers were unsuccessful in putting the ball in the back of the net for the remainder of the half.
Tannor Pierce scored early in the second half for the Lakers and was assisted by Will Skinner. Both Pierce and Skinner scored an additional time before the clock expired. The Vikings put one on the board late in the half. Freshman goalkeeper Easton Moore played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lakers and recorded six saves.
The Lakers will face the Cougars of Clinton Community College on Saturday, September 3. Kickoff is set for 3pm.
