Lakers Stack Personal Records at SUNY Cortland
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College track and field team continued its spring surge with another round of strong performances at SUNY Cortland, highlighted by personal bests across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws. The event also served as the host for the Region III 10K and multi-events.
Terreque Davis started the day with a personal record of 6.02m in the long jump and a time of 11.82 in the 100-meter dash; both regional qualifying marks. Grace Holmes cleared 2.50m in the pole vault, continuing her steady season in the field.
Charles Sherman added to the Lakers' success with a personal best of 28.17m in the javelin. He also ran 12.60 in the 100-meter dash and jumped 5.40m in the long jump. Timothy Trost clocked 12.86 in the 100-meter and landed at 4.48m in the long jump. Dylan Peck recorded a 12.12 in the 100-meter, qualifying him for the Region Championship, and Edwin Del Angel followed at 13.27.
On the women's side, Jadah McCarthy posted a time of 13.51 in the 100-meter dash. Madisyn Everdyke continued her climb in the 100-meter hurdles, running a personal best of 17.03. Alana Bedell hit a new mark in the 1500-meter run with a time of 6:58.38.
In the 10,000-meter, the Lakers packed in solid efforts: Edarius Trimble ran 41:25.95, William Andrew followed at 41:30.73, and Griffin Miller finished in 42:11.94.
On the women's side, Kayla Dunstan highlighted the day for the Lakers with a 2nd place finish in the Region III 10,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 52:47.17.
The Lakers return to action on Friday, April 26 at the Cardinal Classic hosted by St. John Fisher University; their final meet before the Region III Championships hosted by Herkimer College on May 3rd.
