Track and Field Wraps Up Season with School Record, PRs, and National Honors

UTICA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College track and field team capped its 2025 season with a strong showing at the NJCAA Division III National Championships, hosted by Mohawk Valley Community College at D'Alessandro Stadium in Utica, N.Y. In cold, wet, and difficult conditions, much of which they experienced throughout the season, the Lakers delivered personal bests, two top-8 national finishes, and a historic national title.

Grace Holmes made program history on Thursday, winning the NJCAA Division III National Championship in the pole vault, clearing 2.67m. The performance marked a new personal best, broke the program school record, and earned the 7th individual national title in program history for the Lakers.

Friday's preliminary rounds saw several standout efforts. Jadah McCarthy ran a personal best of 13.27 in the 100-meter dash to place 12th overall out of 20 competitors. She followed with another PR in the 200-meter dash, clocking 27.54 to finish 9th overall. Madisyn Everdyke advanced to the finals in both of her events after posting a 16.89 in the 100-meter hurdles and a school-record 1:13.57 in the 400-meter hurdles — both personal bests.

On Saturday, Terreque Davis placed 9th in the high jump with a mark of 1.73m and recorded a new personal best of 6.03m in the long jump. In the finals, Madisyn Everdyke delivered again, earning 7th-place finishes in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.98) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:14.69) to cap a breakout freshman campaign.

The championships mark the end of another successful season for the Lakers, who now turn their focus to 2026 with key returners and momentum.
