FLCC Battles to Five-Set Victory Over Misericordia JV

Dallas, PA - The Finger Lakes Men's Volleyball team hit the road for the final time in the regular season Thursday night, taking on Misericordia JV. It was a hard-fought victory for the Lakers, who battled back to win in five sets after trailing 2-1. The match served as a strong test for the team as they now turn their focus to the FLCC Invite, where they are set to face four top-10 teams over two days.

Leading the team was Sophomore Ethan Bond (Phelps, N.Y. / Midlakes) who led the way for the Lakers with an outstanding all-around performance, recording 13 kills on 29 swings while adding 7 service aces and 2 digs.  Zach Sipos (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) and Braden Whitcomb (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) provided strong support offensively, finishing with 10 and 7 kills respectively.

At the helm of the offense, Cole Thomas (Fayetteville, N.Y. / Chittenango)  dished out 36 assists to go along with 4 service aces, while sophomore Jack Donovan (Oswego, N.Y. / Oswego) anchored the defense with a team-high 10 digs.

The Lakers will return to Putt Moore Court on Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th to host the FLCC Invite. Friday will feature matchups against No. 3 Nassau at 12 PM and No. 1 DuPage at 4 PM. The event will also serve as Sophomore Day for the Lakers.
