Lakers Finish 5th at Regionals
Connor Lucas finished 6th earning Second Team All-Region
CANANDAIGUA -- The Finger Lakes Men's Cross Country team battled the wind and ran their best races of the year on their home course at the NJCAA Region III Championships on Saturday. The team ended up finishing 5th in this year's championship.
Connor Lucas was the high finisher for the Lakers, coming across the line 6th with a time of 29:32. The finish was good enough to earn the freshman Second Team All-Region honors. Sophomore Kevin Schoonmaker (16th) also had his best race of the season. Greg DeSilva, Brandon Smith and John-Michael Rhodes all had personal best times Jon Guzzardi who is suffering from a hip injury gutted out the race. Troy Cymerman had a solid race and Sophmore Keith Baley had his best race of the year.
