Lakers Shine at Home in MSAC Championship

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Community College cross country hosted the 2025 Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, running a 5K on the Bruce Bridgman Course.

The Lakers made the most of their home course advantage, turning in several top finishes and earning conference recognition. Griffin Miller (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) led the way for the men, finishing 5th overall in 20:16. William Andrew (Newark, N.Y./East Palmyra Christian) was close behind in 6th at 20:35, and Kyan Powers (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Mynderse Academy) placed 14th with a time of 26:26.

For the women, sophomore Kayla Dunstan (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne) and classmate Alana Bedell (Newark, N.Y./Newark) crossed the line together in 2nd and 3rd, recording times of 27:04 and 29:50, respectively. Freshman Megan McGregor (Marion, N.Y./Marion) finished 5th with a time of 36:34 to complete the scoring.

Following the race, Griffin Miller and William Andrew earned MSAC All-Conference honors as top-six finishers.

Looking Ahead:

Finger Lakes will now prepare for the NJCAA Region III Championship on Saturday, October 25th back on the Bruce Bridgeman Course. The race will kickoff at 11 AM for the women, followed by a 11:45 AM start for the men.
