CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team suffered their third loss this season on Sunday afternoon, 60-45 at the hands of the Generals of Herkimer College.
Jazzmyn Lewis (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) led the Lakers in scoring with 15 points, coupled with 10 rebounds to notch her second double-double. Lewis and Dalayla Alexander (Ellicottville, N.Y./Ellicottville) would make their names heard on the defensive end of the ball, with 7 and 6 steals, respectively. Eliana Mason (Frederick, M.D./New Life Christian) also had an efficient outing, adding in 11 points on a 50% shooting clip, while also grabbing 7 rebounds to round out her strong performance.
After a slow start, the Lakers would fight to keep the game within striking distance, trailing by just 8 points early in the second half and outscoring the Generals 21-13 in the third quarter. They will look to get back on track in their next matchup, which will be an in-conference faceoff on the road against the Lazers of Onondaga Community College on Wednesday, November 20th at 5 PM.
