Lakers Compete in Home Meet

CANANDAIGUA -- The Finger Lakes Woodsmen team had their first meet of the fall this past weekend on the FLCC Campus. The Jack and Jill 1 team for the Lakers took second place in the meet and the Men's 1 team finished in third place.

The Jack and Jill 1 team finished just 25 points out of first place and won 5 events in the meet. The day started fast with CJ Kouzan winning the pole climb and Cece Frey winning the triathlon. The Lakers fared well in the team events as well winning the canoe relay, pack board relay, and pulp toss. The rest of the Jack and Jill 1 team consisted of John Babcock, Mary Benincasca, Alexis Halstead and Jacob Kelly.

The Lakers Men's 1 team saw Brandon Graves finish second in the triathlon. Finger Lakers took first and second place in the Men's bow saw event as well. Connor Rowell won the axe throwing event in the Jack and Jill competition, representing the Lakers 2 team.

The Finger Lakes Woodsmen team will return to action this upcoming weekend in Syracuse, NY. The Lakers will be a part of the fall meet hosted by SUNY ESF on Saturday, October 11.
