Canandaigua, NY -- The women's soccer team emerged victorious after Wednesday nights match-up against the Generals from Herkimer College by a score of 2-1. With the victory, the Lakers finish their regular season with a 15-2 record.
Despite outshooting the opposition eight to five in the first half, The Lakers found themselves at a deficit after the Generals scored in the 9th minute of play. At the start of the second half, the Lakers began to target more shots on goal. In the 53rd minute, Stephany McBride scored from outside the box to tie up the score at 1-1. She was assisted by Colby Kutzer. Hayley Alden scored the game winner in the 68th minute from the top right corner of the box. Abigail Miller played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lakers. She finished with five saves.
The Lakers wait to be seeded for the NJCAA Region III postseason tournament.
