Women's Soccer Honored for Achievements
The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team capped off a successful regular season, finishing with a 9-6-1 record as the runner-up to the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) champions, Broome County Community College. Thanks to their stellar play, several Lakers student-athletes earned a spot on the MSAC All-Conference team.
Lakers forward Allie Bowe (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) was named to the first-team All-MSAC after she paced the Lakers offense, scoring 14 goals with seven assists in 15 games, leading the Lakers in points (35), goals (14), and assists. Freshman midfielder Halee Passarell (Holley, N.Y./ Holley) also earned a spot on the first-team after she scored four goals and added four assists during the regular season.
Freshman forward Grace Hall (Honeoye, N.Y./ Honeoye) played a key role in the Lakers attack on the season. Hall finished with six goals, including a game-winning tally, and added one assist for 13 points. Sophomore midfielder Nichaela Commisso (Rushville, N.Y./ Marcus Whitman), who tallied seven points on three goals with one assist, and freshman goalie Mackenzie Johnson-Boser (Dansville, N.Y./ Dansville), who made 87 saves in net, also earned spots on the All-Conference team.
The Lakers earned a spot in the Region III, Division III playoffs and will open postseason play when they travel to Genesee Community College for a 4 p.m. match on Oct. 26th.
