Lakers Battle Elements, Post Big Marks at St. John Fisher

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College track and field team continued its outdoor season at the Cardinal Classic hosted by St. John Fisher College, battling tough weather conditions to produce another round of strong performances.

Kayla Dunstan turned in a personal best in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 51:08.34. On the men's side, William Andrew posted a personal best of 40:05.31 in the 10,000-meter.

Jadah McCarthy had a standout day in the sprints, running a personal best 13.39 in the 100-meter dash and following it up with a 27.53 in the 200-meter dash to achieve a national qualifying standard.

Jason Hunt-McLean threw 36.40 meters in the javelin, while Terreque Davis competed in the high jump (1.71m) and ran 12.47 in the 100-meter dash.

In the sprints and middle distances, Dylan Peck tied his personal best in the 200-meter dash with a 24.95, while Timothy Trost ran 26.92. Edwin Del Angel hit two personal bests, running 13.09 in the 100-meter and 27.48 in the 200-meter.

In distance events, Alana Bedell recorded personal bests in both the 1500-meter (6:46.89) and 800-meter (3:22.26). Edarius Trimble ran 4:58.91 in the 1500-meter and set a personal best of 2:18.18 in the 800-meter. Griffin Miller clocked a personal best in the 1500-meter with a time of 5:06.13.

Madisyn Everdyke competed in the 200-meter hurdles, finishing in 17.40.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Dylan Peck, Jason Hunt-McLean, Edwin Del Angel, and Timothy Trost ran a time of 49.65 to close out the day.

The Lakers will return to action next Saturday, May 3rd for the NJCAA Region III Championships at Herkimer College.
