Women's Volleyball Sweeps Monroe to Earn 10th Win of the Season
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team notched its 10th win of the season Thursday night, sweeping Monroe Community College 3–0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-14) at Putt Moore Court. The Lakers, ranked #11 in NJCAA Division III, improved to 10–3 overall.
Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) led the attack with 15 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, committing only 3 errors on 24 attempts. Gabby Fenton (Buckeye, Ariz./Odyssey Institute) added 4 kills and a block, while Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) chipped in 3 kills and a team-high 11 digs.
Setter Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) steered the offense with 18 assists and 2 aces, while Brianna Bansbach (Gates, N.Y./Gates-Chili) contributed 8 assists and 2 aces of her own. Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) added 5 kills, and Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) provided steady defense with 7 digs and 2 aces.
The Lakers combined for 16 service aces as a team and held Monroe under 20 points in two of the three sets.

Finger Lakes returns to action this Saturday, September 20th back at home for a pair of matches with Erie and SUNY Niagara at 11 AM and 1 PM.
