#10 Lakers Sweep Erie for Eighth Straight Win
Finger Lakes extended its win streak to eight matches and stayed unbeaten at home with a sweep of Erie.
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The 10th-ranked Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team continued its strong run on Thursday, defeating Erie Community College 3–0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-21) at Putt Moore Court. The win was the Lakers' fifth straight sweep, moving them to 13–3 overall and 6–0 at home. The Lakers would also celebrate their 2024 NJCAA Region III Championship with a ring ceremony, along with a sophomore night celebration.
Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) led the attack with 6 kills on .455 hitting, while Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) and Gabby Fenton (Buckeye, Ariz./Odyssey Institute) each added 6 and 4 kills respectively. Brianna Bansbach (Gates, N.Y./Gates-Chili) sparked the offense with 17 assists and 4 kills of her own, while Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) finished with 11 assists.
From the service line, the Lakers collected 9 aces, led by Chloe Dailey (Liverpool, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) with 2. Defensively, Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) had 10 digs and 4 kills, while Kayce Hennekey (Rochester, N.Y./West Irondequoit) added 3 block assists.

Finger Lakes returns to action on Saturday, September 27th at 12 and 2 PM for matches with Onondaga and Corning Community College.
